First Affection
She left school on command and suddenly.
I felt autumn alone, visited her home.
Her parents chill as autumn in her home.
I was indelibly in first love.
My first affection, visibly new.
Her quick laugh always a sparkling shallow pool.
A shallow pool her reflexive sparkling laugh.
My learning stayed on hold the teachers watched.
I watched myself not learning alone.
Trees filled with shrill wind. I pulled closed my coat.
Wind resisted song stuffed beneath my coat.
Her shrill soprano safely distant from love.
Her soprano voice far from her self I knew.
Left school on command and suddenly.
