My Legendary Energy
My legendary energy translates to years of marathon walking
Performing errands on foot to stores post office cleaners
And trekking along the canal near ducks and ducklings
Where trios and quintets of fluffy touchable newborns
Clean as the Dawn commercials ride the water
My legs in parallel live in motion that I might forget
And remember all at once how much I love the thinking
I do best while walking calling you and talking
Into my fat cellular phone with its good camera
Sometimes I snap a photograph when rain has decided
Not to foist itself on broadband afternoon
And all possibilities remain available as palo verde trees
Release their dustings of powdered leaves
Leaving yellow chalk as evidence
