Fire Sign

I am by no means 

A water sign 

I do not seek pools

To twist around in

Nor do I worship

Sure and simple air

I prefer the scorch 

Of fire’s excess

Fire's insistence on

Earned place to match 

Me and my surfeit

Of energy a sure fit

With flames wrested from 

God-given guesses about being

A vessel mammal half-containing

Unused fight and fumes
