Between Repeat Signs

No one any longer wanted a child

This was history in darkness why

Did this herd of childless people

Up to their necks in replication in the hood

Charm their way out of existence

How was it they held still with catch and release 

The fish with the endearing qualities of mirth 

As earthbound eminence became foolproof wish fulfillment

Positive people around the boy frames 

Gave tension to sap turned moribund while 

The elephant leapt into the lap of the mother superior 

Who deemed each before her 

A constellation of inferiors until lights out 

When furnaces chilled stayed still
