Minimalist

He gutted his home

to the studs, 

in search of several 

inches more 

square footage.

Then stood watching 

the emptiness 

for fourteen months.

Neighbors asked, 

"Have you thought of 

talking to someone?"

He said he preferred

the many measures 

of rest,

a room of his own 

baritone intoning.
