Early March
She spoke in posses
of words that grew
tired of one another.
Lent arrived, bent
down as she crossed
herself, her thin surroundings.
She rinsed her unwashed
hands, handsome in their
reluctance, small dance.
On learning of the death
of something, talent sent
over a casserole.
