When to Say Grace
When the tops of trees receive
a little of the wind, and turn
all of a sudden half athletic.
When cinders crisp themselves into
one music alerting us to a metallic
olive green colored car arriving.
When a rest stop occurs along
a cactus highway and wildflowers
barely perfume the side of the road.
When the treble clef my mother drew
using her whole right arm appears
on the page of the notebook just found.
When I taste two crisp-edged over-
easy eggs you made and toast all ghee-ed
plus freshly squeezed orange juice on Sunday.
