Duplex Duplex*
I wanted to live and die in a duplex
beside an accidental mirror twin,
two mirroring floor plans connected,
with each house matching the other house.
Each matching house turned the opposite way.
If I got lost and entered the wrong house,
the host of the wrong house would welcome me,
might love me as the mirror in my dream.
My dreamed mirror home might extend
ambidextrous hands touched by matching hands.
The touch of matching ambidextrous hands
would flex reflexively, two high voltage mimes.
My high voltage home would mime desire.
I wanted to live and die in a duplex.
